Bloody Mary Contest

Bloody Mary cocktail

If you like a good Bloody Mary, then be at Turntable Junction at 11 AM on Sunday. That's when beverage Czarina Linda Cousins presides over the Jubilee's annual Bloody Mary Contest, a competition that, after several years now, could qualify as something of an institution.

Jubilee bartenders had been bragging for years about their skill at making this refreshing concoction, and a few years ago, they decided to put it to the test—head to head—who makes the best one, judged by impartial judges from outside the Jubilee.

Don't ask, though; the ingredients are secret. Czarina Cousins says get there early; these delectables sell just as fast as the bartenders can make them. Show up early if you want to hear the Gospel Set by Blue Street Jazz Band. Then at 11:30, Catfish & the Crawdaddies take the stage. What a great start to your Sunday at the festival!
